I’ve Been on Every Side of Healthcare
Hi, I’m Casey Hood, MSN, APRN, FNP-C. I’m a wife, mom, Family Nurse Practitioner, nurse educator, and founder of Rising Health Group.
I’ve experienced healthcare from nearly every angle. As a provider caring for patients in primary care. As an educator helping nurses and clinicians build confidence in their practice. As a patient trying to understand my own health. And as the person sitting beside someone I love, trying to connect the pieces of a complicated medical story.
Across all of those roles, I kept seeing the same problem.
Healthcare contains an enormous amount of information, but information does not always create clarity.
Patients may have labs scattered across different portals, records spanning years, medications that have changed multiple times, and specialists who each see only one part of the picture. Then they are expected to explain everything that matters during a short appointment.
At the same time, clinicians are working inside that same complicated system. Primary care providers are managing increasingly complex patients, packed schedules, documentation requirements, medication decisions, preventive care metrics, referrals, and conditions they may have received limited training on, often with very little time to pull everything together.
Both sides are trying to solve the same puzzle from different chairs.
That’s Why I Created Rising Health Group
Rising Health Group was built to help bridge the space between patients and providers by making complex health information easier to understand, organize, communicate, and use.
For Patients
I help patients make sense of the information they already have and prepare for more productive conversations with their healthcare team.
Through coaching, patient resources, and health organization tools, I help people review existing information, organize complicated medical histories, prepare for appointments, and identify the questions that may be worth discussing with their provider.
The goal is not to diagnose or replace your healthcare team. It is to help you understand what you have, organize what matters, and walk into your next appointment better prepared.
For Providers
I support Nurse Practitioners and other primary care clinicians through mentorship, practical clinical education, and point-of-care tools designed for the realities of everyday practice.
That includes help with clinical reasoning, documentation, complex patient presentations, workflow, confidence in primary care decision-making, and areas that often receive limited attention in traditional training.
I also create practical resources such as clinical frameworks, smart phrases, assessment guides, decision-support tools, patient education, and focused education in complex and underrecognized areas of primary care.
My goal is to help clinicians feel less like they are white-knuckling their way through practice and more equipped to approach each visit with a clear framework, especially when a patient is sitting in front of you desperate for answers and someone to truly listen!
